A fixed shoji panel between the entry and the dining room.
A row of sliding shoji screens separates the kitchen / dining room from the living room.
Shoji screens are installed with roller tracking above and float on spring loaded guide pins that engage a channel routed into the floor.
Opposite from the kitchen a wall of shoji screens provide light and privacy across the expanse of windows & glass doors.
The shoji screen frames were toned to work with the other wood tones in the room but the Port Orford Cedar kumiko were left natural.
A picture of five shoji screens stacked in the corner when open.
I love this shot of the entry and the way the fixed shoji panel is blocked in with a darker wood blocking. Thank you to our clients for providing these great pictures.
