Most of the shoji in this view are fixed panels. The sliding shoji door is the only one with a door pull. The sliding door slips between the wall and the fixed shoji screens to the left.
A view of the sliding shoji screen in it's pocket behind the fixed panels on the left The strange shape, with glowing eyes, on the back of the couch is their cat.
The loft shoji are installed with wood tracking and have a locking mechanism so the screens can only be taken out in one position. The area above the shoji, in this view, has not been trimmed out yet, what you see is the spacers or trim supports... and more of their beautiful kimono collection.
The same shoji screens affording some privacy inside the loft. Many Thanks to our client in Arizona for sending photos!
